Jankyn and the Witch’s Daughter
A unique and vibrant gypsy tale from Romania about a young man and his heroic quest to keep the girl he wants to marry. A story of disguise and discovery and seemingly unattainable tasks as the girl of his dreams - the daughter of a witch - disappears almost as soon as she is miraculously found. Keeping her from the evil clutches of her mother nearly proves an almost impossible challenge!
This story is performed using puppets and objects, dynamically woven together with driving rhythms from a range of instruments including the dilroba (an Indian stringed instrument), kemence (the Turkish Violin) and Middle Eastern Percussion.
Suitable for family audiences children ages 6 years upwards.
